Trying to learn more about digital painting. I've been screwing around with adding color to my graphite drawings(i might post some of that later), but I think I need to stop messing around and paint some shit. This is the second of a series of portraits I'm doing to practice. Some of you might recognize this fellow, but most of you will not. If he looks a bit disheveled its because he's recently escaped from a mental institution. Criticism is welcome. Yes I know the hair isn't done.

This one scanned really badly. That particular type of paper never scans well though... its really cheap. I just like having a bunch of half finished drawings on it for some reason. Oh well.. new paper tomorrow...

I've been doing alot of mask related posts of late... so I'm just going to break down and do a bunch of creepy masks. On a related note, how hard is it thinking of a new thing to draw every day? Seems like it should be easy but... damn. How about we sketch people agree on some themes and have some fun seeing how people respond to differently to the same idea? Can I get a second to that motion?

I sketched out a body and a nifty knife for this lady in blue... but man I gotta keep the time I spend on some of these under control so I can be productive on other projects. I was looking at some Aztec and Zapotec imagery so some of this is loosely inspired by some of that.

I was drawing this messed up looking head trying to decide what sort of funny hat to give him when I realized that his neck and head sort of looked like a bent wrist. So he got fingers. End transmission.

"Democracy is not an option!"

Fallout 1 and 2 are probably my favorite computer games of all time. Fallout 3 came out recently, and it's pretty good too. Lots of morbid humor and cool 1950's science fiction blown up all over the place. It makes you wonder things about yourself.. like "In the event of a nuclear apocalypse, which tribal/punk haircut fits me best? It has to be stylish, but also insinuate that I'm probably a cannibal." Also, "Do I really have enough biker/fetish gear to last me until civilization is rebuilt? Really?" I've been wanting to do a fallout themed painting to take with me to gencon in august... I guess this is me starting to think about that painting. Enjoy.
